Armed with a sharply judgmental attitude and a pair of binoculars, homeowner Leona Crump is consumed with anxiety over her new neighbors. Will they be California beatniks? Or paroled drug pushers? Or more frightening yet, perhaps someone with children?! Her worst fears are realized when an odd-ball “hill-folk” family move in across the street. She quickly realizes that neither God, nor her favorite telephone psychic, has prepared her for the series of showdowns set to take place in her living room. Gafina Hambefferschmidt, an obnoxious, gum-chewing woman, together with her “Maw,” an old hill-betty crone; Gafina’s simple-minded, love-struck boyfriend, Turner; and her “trampy” sister Bambi, turn Leona’s neighborhood upside down. Threatened by the over-zealous friendliness of the women and “romanced” by the disgusting Turner, Leona vows to purge them from her cul-de-sac. But she has no support from her husband, the epitome of the couch potato, nor her other neighbor Judy, who is as sweet as pie and about as bright. Adding to Leona’s exasperation are her daily dealings with her refrigerator-raiding neighbor Paul, the local real estate saleswoman, the mailman, an Avon lady, and a police officer, all, she is sure, who were only put on this earth to annoy her. Outnumbered, but refusing to be outmatched, Leona suits up in fatigues and resolves to “mop up” the new neighbors all on her own. Ultimately, it’s a flock of pink flamingos that drives her over the edge and lands her in the local jail. But in the end, will she be victorious and drive her new neighbors away? Maybe, maybe not, it all depends on her weedeater!

John Dale hasn’t enjoyed a “real Christmas” for years. So, on the spur of the moment, he decides to “rent” a Christmas from Anne Weston, who owns the local rent shop. Anne is at first flustered with the requirements: a tree with presents, Christmas carols and also a wife and five children. Anne feels she has solved the problem of a Christmas family by calling the actors’ guild. But the young actors come down with the measles so she turns to the local orphanage. When the guild can’t locate a “mother,” Anne steps in to play the role herself. Based on the short story by J. Lillian Vandervere, the story of how John Dale’s rented Christmas turns into a new life for all concerned makes this a warm story for the holiday season.

What happens when the world’s worst movie producer, David O. Dimwit, decides to travel to Vansyltrania to produce his next horrible horror movie? A string of mysterious murders plagues the set and baffles the aptly named Chief Inspector Idiot. With the help of some local talent (like a green-faced monster and a hunch-backed laboratory assistant), director Otto von Strongman and his cast manage to triumph over murder, a werewolf and an unwrapped mummy to wrap up the film and solve the mystery. This hilarious send-up of 1930s Hollywood is populated with zany characters from tourist director Ivan Hoo (whose every conversation sounds like an Abbot and Costello routine), to gossip columnist Hedda Gobbler, to screen hero North Dakota Smith. Norma Starr, one of the last great silent screen stars, made her share of enemies during her career and she’s gathered all of them for her birthday celebration – her director, a rising starlet, her shifty agent, a handsome matinee idol, her costume designer, her maid, and her oldest friend, who carries a dangerous secret. As they all watch, Norma relishes a chocolate covered cherry from a box given anonymously. At that moment, she dies. Det. Larry Stark, L.A.P.D., and his tactless assistant, Roscoe, invite all the suspects to a “reunion” party during which secrets are revealed and a clever trap is laid.

A play within a play, which begins as a murder mystery, but the murder victim won’t keel over. The playwright forgot to give the characters names, and even the ending of the play stinks! Everyone is supposed to die and then the character Death is supposed to do an interpretive dance. Thankfully, the audience’s agony is cut short halfway through when the actors break character because Death accidentally kills the Host and then leaves the set to move her car. Without Death, how can the play go on? But all is not lost. With such a rotten ending and no director or playwright in sight, ad-libbing can only improve the play. How will the play end? No one is sure – not even the actors!

Ashley, a freshman sprite, makes her first visit to Mt. Olympus to meet the powerful pantheon of gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece. She is overwhelmed by the way the Great Olympians live and the power that they wield, and wants to grab a little of the glory for herself. She becomes friends with Persephone, the goddess of spring who is running away from her brooding husband, Hades. Together the women set off on an ambitious odyssey to steal Zeus’ lightning bolts, Poseidon’s trident, and Hades’ helmet of invisibility and take over Mt. Olympus! They are pursued by the vengeful goddess, Hera, and eventually learn an important lesson about the balance of power. The up-beat score includes a rousing gospel number, “That’s the Way It Is”; the bluesy “The Gods Don’t Play Fair”; Poseidon’s be-bop surfer song, “Go with the Flow”; and Hades’ haunting ballad, “Gifts Under the Earth.” This musical rocks with mirth, mayhem and myth-adventure!

Would you like to hear the legend of Robin Hood? If your answer is “I Sherwood,” then hitch up your gauntlets and get ready to laugh. You see, it’s a little known fact that the famous English bandit was a bit of a klutz. As a kid he practiced with a bow and violin instead of a bow and arrow, so naturally to fight the king’s injustices he needed his famous band of women. Women? That’s what you get when you send Little John to do the recruiting! But just as the ladies are persuaded that after they steal from the rich they have to give the goodies to the poor, Robin is tricked by a rhyming witch and is taken captive by the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. At the palace, King John holds a festival to trap all of Robin’s followers. Will swordplay and derring-do, plus a lot of cheap tricks, allow goodness to triumph over evil and Robin Hood to win the hand of the lovely Maid Marian.
