Magic Tree House: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens JR. is an adaptation of book #44 of Mary Pope Osborne’s award-winning fantasy adventure books from the Magic Tree House book series, which has sold more than 100 million copies and is available in more than 100 countries around the world. Jack and Annie’s tree house takes them to Victorian London in this holiday-themed story, where they learn the importance of charity and kindness through their friendship with legendary author, Charles Dickens.

The magic tree house whisks Jack and Annie back in time to the foggy streets of Victorian London, where they meet the famous, well-off author, Charles Dickens, who has a severe case of writer’s block. Jack and Annie also witness the hardships faced by the poor, and their efforts to help only land them in prison.  Mr. Dickens rescues Jack and Annie, and they, in turn, help him escape the sad memories that haunt him. In the process, they inspire Mr. Dickens to write one of the greatest holiday stories of all time.

Auditions

• This is a Junior production. We are seeking a cast of male and female actors ages 6 – 18 years.
• Auditions will be held August 19th and 20th from 5:45 – 8:15 PM
  • You only need to attend one evening
• Location: The Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St, Abrams WI
• Pre-registration is appreciated.
• Those auditioning should prepare 30-45 seconds of song, preferably from a musical, to sing at the audition. The audition also consists of a short reading from the script and learning and performing a short choreography routine.
• Youths should wear comfortable clothes and footwear.

Rehearsals

• Rehearsals will begin in early September (date to be announced)
• Rehearsal dates and times will be scheduled around availability, however, typical rehearsals will be Sundays 5:00 – 7:30 p.m., Tuesdays 5:45 – 7:15 p.m. and Thursdays, 5:45 – 7:15 p.m.
• There will be a Tech Week of rehearsals November 30th through December 3rd. These rehearsals are mandatory
